The Hair Clinic

Hair Therapy

Hair loss, much like aging, can lead to significant mental and emotional distress alongside various appearance-related worries. Contrary to popular belief, hair loss is not solely linked to ageing and can manifest at any stage of life in both men and women.

The good news is that there are several regenerative medicine treatments that we can offer in clinic to improve hair density and quality.

PRP to treat Hair Loss

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy takes advantage of your blood’s natural healing properties. It is used widely in medicine and surgery to repair damaged cartilage, tendons, ligaments, skin, muscle and bone. It can reduce pain, improve joint function and help you return quickly to normal activities after injury.

PRP Injections are effective in many areas of the body to promote wound healing and regeneration of tissues. Used in the scalp PRP can also stimulate growth in hair follicles.

Is PRP hair loss treatment right for me?

PRP treatment for hair rejuvenation involves the injection of a patient’s own plasma and growth factors into the scalp to improve hair density and the acceleration of hair growth thus improving the overall hair thickness and condition.

If you feel that your hair is lacking radiance and density and the signs of ageing are beginning to take their toll, you may find that your hair loss will reduce with this simple, safe treatment. If you are suffering with androgenetic alopecia (commonly known as male patterned balding or female patterned hair loss), stress-related hair loss, alopecia areata, or have recently had a hair transplant, PRP therapy could help you.

PRP FAQs

Have a question? We’re here to help.

  • What does the treatment involve?

PRP Therapy is a simple and safe procedure where a blood sample is taken from the arm similar to a regular blood test. It is put into a centrifuge and spun to separate the blood cells from the plasma.  The platelet rich plasma layer is collected and injected into the treatment area with multiple tiny injections using superfine needles. A special hair growth serum is applied to the scalp to further boost the nutrients required for healthy, strong hair growth.

  • How many PRP treatments do I need and how long does it last?

We usually advise to start with a course of three treatments, 4 weeks apart. Most patients start to see early- stage improvement from 3-6 months and the full effect from 6-12 months.

You may experience a little shedding of hair within the first 1-2 months – this is normal and means the treatment is working.

It is important to know that top-up treatments are required for maintenance of thicker, fuller hair. We recommend a single top up treatment every 6-12 months, depending on the extent of your hair loss.

  • Who is suitable?

Some medical conditions and medications are not compatible with PRP treatments.   PRP procedures require an in-person consultation and review of your medical history to assess suitability for treatment.

  • How much does it cost?

    PRP hair loss x 1 treatment - £495.00

    PRP hair loss x 3 treatment package - £1,650.00
